Save Money and Make your Own Hairspray
Save Money and Make your Own Hairspray! - Summer Fall 2009 Hairstyles Tips
Let’s face it; hair products as we know are reaching their peak price. Due to inflation and the economic state that our world seems to be in, we are noticing a rise in prices everywhere. A bottle of hairspray can go a long way. But these days most of us can barely afford a gallon of milk. Luckily for you, there is a great way that you can make your own hairspray and still have fabulous hair! There are a few ingredients that you are going to need before you actually get started. Most people tend to have these ingredients simply lying around the house. All you will need is a lemon and 2 cups of water. For those of you who tend to have dry hair you may want to use an orange instead.
Chop the lemon up and place it in the pot of water. Let the water come to a boil until there is only about half of the lemon remaining. Once that is all said and done, take the pot of water off of the heat and let it cool. Once the liquid is cooled, you can then strain the liquid into a spray bottle. Store the bottle in the refrigerator and you will be all set to go! If the hairspray itself is too sticky for your liking, you may want to add about a little bit of extra water.
In order to preserve your homemade hairspray, mix an ounce of rubbing alcohol in the spray bottle. Once the rubbing alcohol is added, you will then be able to store your spray unrefrigerated for 2 weeks! Get out the citrus and get started!
